Water – Life & Health

 Clear facts

  • If the absolute majority of our body mass is not water, we will soon be dead.
  • Water needs to be constantly replaced. Because no water molecule stays in the body for longer than 2 weeks
  • This results in a daily water replacement requirement of 0,34 liters per 10 kg of body weight.
  • For example, someone who weighs 70 kilograms has to replace 2,38 liters of water in their body every day. How we do this has a huge impact on our health.

Water – in what form?

  • Living food, especially fruit and vegetables, also consists largely of water. But we can never eat as much of it as we need water. Above all, we shouldn't eat so much because our sedentary lifestyle no longer requires high-calorie food. Obesity is one of the biggest health risks of our time.
  • We need solid food primarily to generate energy. It is obtained through the metabolism of carbohydrates.
  • Carbohydrates are made up of carbon and hydrogen. What we need most of all is hydrogen.
That's why we excrete most of the carbon as quickly as possible by breathing out about 1 kilogram of carbon dioxide every day.
  • Carbon dioxide is a deadly gas because excessive amounts of it cause acidification in the body. It is constantly created as we burn the carbohydrates in our food using the oxygen we breathe in. In order to breathe it out, the lungs alone need 0,5 liters of water every day.
So when we consume carbonated drinks, we put additional strain on the organism. This applies to sparkling water, and especially to sugary sodas, which are particularly high in carbohydrates.
