How did Sang Whang come across alkaline water and what were his experiences?
With this two-part interview from 2010, Yasin Akgün presents a very important video about alkaline water. Mr. Sang Whang is the well-known author of the bestseller “The Way Back to Youth” and is therefore considered the expert in matters of pH value, redox potential, hexagonal-structured water, etc.
However, we must correct that he did not invent or develop the Alkabest water ionizer, but cooperates with the well-known Korean manufacturer Biontech in Korea.

Mr. Sang Whang, thank you for coming to Munich.
I have a few questions for you because you are the expert.
How did it all start?
Sang Whang:
Well, when I was 55 years old I wasn't feeling well. I suffered from high blood pressure, took medication for high blood pressure, had a tendency to diabetes, and many common age-related illnesses. Until someone sold me a water ionizer. This was a very old water ionizer comparable to an aquarium. I was told you can drink alkaline water but not the acidic water.
She doesn't know exactly why, but it helps, and it helps a lot of people who suffer from high blood pressure. So I bought this machine just in case it helps me too. I drank this alkaline water 5 times a day. Ph10 a glass of 300ml.
After 6 weeks I stopped taking the high blood pressure medication and I was very happy when this happened. I, as a scientific engineer, immediately began to doubt that this was just a psychological effect or just a short-term phenomenon. I was also concerned about whether it had side effects that could harm my body. If you don't know this exactly, it's obviously worrying. Y: Can you explain why your blood pressure dropped?
Sang Whang: Not only that! I am very happy to explain why we age. Why we age and why we die. The process became clear to me and when I realized that I published a book.

Sang Whang: I lived in America. Since 1951. That's why I wrote it in English. I'm actually from Korea but I can't write a book in Korean.
Y: That's funny because they are from Korea and the technology of water ionization comes from Japan and Korea, Asia. But they lived in America and only got to know alkaline active water there

Sang Whang: The book is not a book where something is sold.
It is written to teach! Very simple. Many beautiful, nice people die sooner because they don't know this simple lesson. This is the reason why I wrote this book, to help people. This is a scientific book, but it is not complicated rocket science or brain surgery science. This is a very simple and logical science but most people don't know it yet. Then you won't be able to live long.
Y: And if you know but still don't drink alkaline water, then you have to drink the water?
Sang Whang: Right, you can learn everything about this water technology and why we live long...but if you don't drink alkaline water...
Y: Exactly
Sang Whang:….then it’s no use at all. I became so involved and started to get better and better. With the alkaline active water and the books.
Y: Then you have been drinking alkaline water for 20 years now? What are the side effects? You have already met so many people. What are the consequences of using ionized water?
Sang Whang: You lose weight and you have more (life) energy. And for me, I no longer had to take any medication. I no longer have high blood pressure and the symptoms of diabetes disappeared again!
The abdominal pain and the signs of arthrithis have also disappeared. I consider these to be the side effects! I don't take any more medication! Completely natural, discounted!
Y: And what do you think is the most important thing about ionized water? The electrons or ORP (redox potential) or the Ph value? Or the hexagonal structure? What is the most important element?
Sang Whang: My conclusion is that it is the PH level. Because the alkaline pH neutralizes the acid in our body!
Y: Ahah
Sang Whang: The enemy of our body is the acidic state.
Y: Yes, exactly!
Sang Whang: We want to neutralize the acid so that our body can safely rid itself of it. This is why I consider pH to be the most important part of this topic. Many years ago when I was in Europe people asked me: You as an expert, can you recommend the best ionizer? I then went back to Miami and did more research to find out exactly what was bad and what was good about ionizing water. And I think we have developed the best ionizers. First, toxins such as acid, chlorine and the like are removed from the water
Y: With special filters?
Sang Whang: Yes, there are special filters in there.
Y: What is special about these filters? I think every ionizer has a filter in the system and why is this filter so special?
Sang Whang: Because I found the expert filter! These filters were initially designed for NASA and space travel. The filters are designed to filter the urine so that only water comes out that is drinkable! So you can imagine how good these filters must be. Of course, this is a special filter from space travel and we don't need a filter like that. Such similar filters are also used to clean our lakes, rivers and contaminated water. The good thing is that nowadays the experts can use their filter methods as required and adapt them to the respective needs. We use a 7-stage filter for our ionizer to achieve a high pH value.
Y: Ahaa, do you actually use coral minerals in filters, coral calcium?
Sang Whang: No, if there is enough calcium in your tap water you don't need filters with additional coral calcium.
Y: Isn't it true that we need enough calcium to achieve good ionization? If there is not enough lime in the tap water, the coral calcium would dissolve in the water.
Sang Whang: Exactly, that's right!
Sang Whang: Yes, just like in a normal reverse osmosis device, it takes everything out. All minerals. And even if you ionize it, you don't get alkaline ionized water, nor acidic water.

Sang Whang: The side effect is you lose weight, and you get more energy and my case was the side effects in the body not taking any more pills. And I don't have any more high blood pressure and the tendency of diabetes to disappear
If I had a gut pain disappears, arthritis disappears, I consider that the side effects. Because I am not taking any more medicine, of course! Reduce! Eliminating!

First of all we take pollutant acid chlorine or things like that, take that out

Y: why so special, I mean every ionizer has filter in it why does filter now more special?
Sang Whang: Because I found the expert filter. The expert is filter designer for space NASA space aircraft and the filters human waste (urine) so that you can drink it again!
So you can imagine how good the filter has to be! So that you can drink human waste without worrying about it.
Of course this / our filters has a different need. You don't need a human waste filter. For filtering our polluted lakes and polluted water.
So the happy part was that this expert can adjust his filter so that it is best for that particular area. And that and we use 7 stage ionizing filter to make a strong ph!
Y: Aha, so you also put coral minerals inside enriched with calcium, no?
Sang Whang: No, if you have enough calcium in the water original water supply you don't need coral minerals
Y: But we have to have calcium in the water in order to make an ionization
Sang Whang: Right
Y: Without the filter would give its minerals into the water if there is not sufficient inside
Sang Whang: Right like a reverse osmosis filter takes everything out and even if you ionize it you don't get alkaline water.
You don't get acid water.
