The AquaVolta® Basic is a water ionizer with a minimalist construction
- 220 (W) x 300 (H) x 115 (D) mm - yet with professional details that much more expensive and larger devices often miss:

Its robust, mounted rotary ceramic faucet makes it possible to connect it to the tap as well as directly to the cold water pipe, thus being able to precisely regulate the water flow.

Controls | AquaVolta® Basic Flow Electrolysis Apparatus

After touching one of the 8 buttons, the corresponding LED lights up.
At the same time you are able to hear a short acknowledgment tone.
The production of the set water type begins only with the water flowing through the ionizer.

After switching off the water, the device automatically jumps to the pre-selection mode "Level 2 - Alkaline activated water". The device does not remember the last set level.

The 4 filter LEDs indicate the remaining life of the removable filter cartridge.
When the filter needs to be changed, they start flashing.

Regulation of water flow at the tap

Due to its minimalist construction, AquaVolta® Basic has no sensor-controlled flow measurement. However, since accurate flow control is a mandatory requirement for the proper operation of a water ionizer, you must set it manually before using it for the first time. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. When you connect the ionizer to the water tap: Please ensure that only cold water flows to the ionizer. First, open the cold water supply to maximum level and set the lever sideways so that the water is directed towards the ionizer. Now you shall keep track of the time.
  2. You will also need a measuring cup with quantities in liters or a half-liter container. Then activate the flow through water ionizer with the ON / OFF switch by turning it counterclockwise. Now, water flows out of the upper tap and out of the acidic water drain hose at the same time. Now catch the water from the upper tap with the measuring cup and measure the time it takes to reach the half-liter mark.
  3. Now use the dial to adjust the flow of water so that the half-liter mark is reached within 30 seconds. The device now produces 1 liter of activated water per minute. Always leave the tap in this position and switch the water flow on and off only by operating with the diverter valve.

Regulation of water flow with the supplied T-piece, if permanently installed

If you have not installed the water ionizer to the tap but with the T-piece under the sink, do the following:

  1. Keep track of the time and have a measuring cup ready as described on page 15.
  2. Activate the device with  the ON / OFF switch by turning it to the left.
  3. Now, preferably with the help of a second person, adjust the flow of water by turning the small gray lever on the T-piece to produce 0.5 liters of water within 30 seconds.
  4. Then stop the flow of water by turning the switch to OFF.
  5. For future use, always turn the switch to maximum (ON) and end the water flow by turning it clockwise (OFF).

For both regulations of the water flow (installed at the tap or fixed):

If the achievable pH values ​​of the alkaline activated water are not satisfactory (either too low or too high) you can influence this by changing the production rate per minute: An increase in the flow reduces the achieved pH value of the respectively set level.

7 titanium electrodes with platinum coating for particularly high values

The patented, multiple platinum coated titanium electrodes (plus-minus pole) perform the fundamental role of separating purified water in alkaline and acidic water.

However, there are enormous differences in alkalinity and quality of activated water with different water ionizers, because of the thickness and type of platinum-titanium coating and the number of electrodes (galvanically coated or sprayed) which can be achieved on the whole.

Each of the 7 electrodes is coated three times with a patented spray process which completely covers the layers of platinum and leaves no gaps.

Unlike water ionizers with 5 electrodes, this outstanding 7 electrode ionizer is also suitable for medium- hard tap water up to 14° dH and up to a maximum of 18° dH . Values up pH 10,5 and above can be reached even with hard water.

An additional advantage of the platinum titanium coating is that it has a high electrical conductivity and is a harmless material to the human body. Furthermore, the core of the AquaVolta® Basic water ionizer is characterized by an extremely low power consumption and a good electrolytic performance. Lifespan of the filter cartridge

The multifunctional filter cartridge in your water ionizer doesn’t only serve so as to remove contaminants from the tap water, which may still be present despite the treatment measures of your water supplier.

It also serves to protect the electrolysis cell and its high-quality diaphragm membranes from particles of iron, lime, rust, etc. which may have dissolved from the piping system into the water on the way to your household. Therefore, the filter cartridge should always be changed after 6 months.

The filter cartridge has a capacity of 3500 liters, which is normally sufficient for the full 6 months. If you consume more than this amount of water before the expiration of 6 months, the 4 LEDs will indicate the remaining capacity.

As soon as you see the LEDs blinking, the capacity of the filter is exhausted and you have to change the filter cartridge, even though it has not been 6 months since the last change.

Transformerless SMPS power supply for minimal heat and electromagnetic pollution

 

Traditional current transformers (transformers), which are widely used in water ionizers are only designed for a power supply with 100-150W / 24-30V / 5A resistance.
As a result, a lot of PCB bugs or malfunctions arise which can cause overheating of individual components. This occurs during the electrolysis process when an over current/charge happens.
The producer, as a standard, has consistently set SMPS as a power supply, which can withstand a range of 200-230W outside / 24-35V / 10-20A.

It lowers the superheat rate of the device even with more than twice the output current in comparison to other devices, thereby increasing both the efficiency as well as the safety of the appliance by lowering the error rate program.

Limescale removal of the electrodes with an automatic polarity reversal system

The removal of mineral deposits such as calcium and magnesium is one of the most important maintenance features of a water ionizer to guarantee a long-term consistent performance of the electrodes.

While most water ionizers clean themselves just before each use or every 12 to 15 liters use with a so-called self-cleaning mechanism, in which the poles are reversed for only a short period of 5-15 seconds, the AquaVolta® Basic performs constant reversal. After each use the poles are reversed and so counteracted an accumulation of lime on the electrodes and the sensitive membranes.

Only two other producers in the European market have all of this patented hardware. The advantage of an automatic polarity reversal system of the AquaVolta® Basic is that it does not work with a flow reversal motor, but with valves. In practice, this method is more reliable because it seldom becomes defective.

Hello. I have been using the AquaVolta Basic for a year now. I live in Munich and the water is quite calciferous here. I find the ionizer as a starter device in a small household is great. I have used this one at home and was very pleased, then moved in with 3 flatmates and decided a bigger one is needed. For two adults it is perfect, is compact and sturdy and delivers good results. Taste is great too.

Installation of the AquaVolta® Basic water ionizer

Two installation options: the tap and on the cold water line and as a countertop ionizer

Two different installation options are offered by the AquaVolta® Basic and give you maximum flexibility during installation. So you will definitely find the suitable solution for your ionizer:

 
1.Simple:

The AquaVolta® Basic ionizer installed directly to the tap

The AquaVolta® Basic can – like all flow through water ionizers – be installed directly to the tap. A very small and very robust diverter valve is included. Three adapters for rarer tap thread sizes are also supplied.

The supplied water flow rate regulating valve will be installed at the tap. It adjusts the water flow to the water inlet hose for the ionizer. With it you will be able to adjust the amount of water flowing and therefore the pH level.

2.Comfortable:

The AquaVolta® Basic installed to the cold water pipe


The other way to connect the ionizer is to the fixed water mains (also often called the fixed installation).

For this purpose, a supplied> T (3/8 ‘inch screw, Fig. Right) needs to be installed after the angle valve and the cold water hose of your faucet under your sink.

From here, the direct connection can be made with a supplied 1/4 ‘hose.

To perform the (6.25mm) 1/4 ‘hose upwards to the water ionizer, a 6.5 mm hole has to be drilled with a drill.
