What is AQUALEN®?
The AQUALEN filter material, developed and patented in Russia by around 70 researchers and scientists, is characterized by its special synergistic structure and very high filter performance. The very fine activated carbon granules in solid block form interspersed with AQUALEN have a very high absorbency. The activated carbon granules are 4x as fine as in normal activated carbon filters and therefore have a very large contact surface, which is why they can remove pollutants from the water at top speed. In addition, Aquaphor's activated carbon is laced with special fibers that contain, among other things, “anti-heavy metal” chelates and activated silver. These synergistically help to rid the water of heavy metals and germs.
The tap water that flows into the filter must first pass through this solid, fine-pored activated carbon block, which does not give in to the water pressure. Because of this, the water flows through very evenly and there is no channel formation, as is the case with filters with loose activated carbon filters, which means that the water can be filtered less.

The most effective remedy against heavy metals in tap water
AQUALEN® is extremely effective in capturing and removing heavy metals in water. Heavy metals have an 800 times greater affinity with the complex chelated ion exchangers in AQUALEN than calcium and magnesium in conventional filters. This means AQUALEN detects and absorbs heavy metals at every level of water hardness. The amount of compounds in the ion exchangers in AQUALEN is approximately 10x greater than the same amount present in conventional exchangers. The chelates contained in AQUALEN are very effective against heavy metals because they bind to them molecularly and do not let them go. This means that Aquaphor's AQUALEN is probably one of the most effective remedies against heavy metals in drinking water.

Activated silver in the Aquaphor filter kills germs
The activated silver particles in ionized form contained in AQUALEN are a strong antibacterial agent, as silver is known to be a germ killer.
The activated silver is also much more effective. It is woven directly into Aquaphor's activated carbon, which is why bacteria and germs have no basis for life and are immediately killed when they come into contact with this silver.
This means that the classic risk of contamination in this filter is virtually impossible. Note: According to the manufacturer, the silver does not come out of the filter.
The germ protection barrier through hollow fiber membrane
But even more important is the final germ barrier against germs and bacteria. Because this keeps 99,9999% of all bacteria away.
Because of your size, you simply won't fit through these capillary-like Hollow fiber membrane, which has a size of 0,1 µm (see picture).

Hygienic filter change
The integrated plug-in/plug-out system makes changing the filter particularly easy. These water filters from Aquaphor consist of a filter head and a filter cartridge. They offer the highest level of hygienic safety.
When the filter medium is changed, the filter housing is also automatically replaced, as both form a unit. There is no need to clean or disinfect the inside of the housing, as with classic systems.
Germs cannot get inside the system while the filter is being changed. The user no longer comes into contact with the used or new filter medium. This represents a significant advantage for hygiene. This is required to use the cartridges. Changing a Quickchange cartridge only takes a few seconds.

Because you get the Aquaphor filter K107 for less than half the price and you can, for example, only change the K107B filter once a year, while you change the K1 twice a year. Some customers use this option at their own risk, as according to the DIN standard in Germany, filters should generally be changed after 107 months at the latest.
Our advice: The Aquaphor double filter set consisting of the filters K107+K107B.
With the UMH water refiner (e.g. UMH Pure or UMH Live) you can significantly increase the water taste and the quality of the water that is already free of pollutants.
You can also use the Aquaphor water filter as a pre-filter for your water ionizer. This gives you strong additional protection.
