pH measurement with attached indicator solution

FAQ pH measurement

  • Hardly any manufacturer gives the buyer more than the drops for pH measurement. Basically, these are enough. To see the effectiveness of the ionization, you just have to look at the difference between the colored tap water and the alkaline active water at the different color levels.
It's not about an absolute pH value behind the decimal point, but rather that the difference is one or a maximum of 2 color levels, depending on how strong you want the water to be.
When measuring pH, tap water is usually green, the light alkaline active water is blue and the stronger is purple.
  • Special test strips are relatively expensive because you cannot use normal indicator paper for water. It must be “coated” so that the air does not distort the result when it is pulled out.
  • Electric pH meters are cheaper and available from €20. With today's warranty rules, you can't actually give them as accessories because they will only survive a few measurements with activated water, especially in layman's hands. This applies to both expensive and cheap pH measuring devices. Unfortunately, the electrodes break down very quickly in activated water and can only be replaced with expensive devices.
  • If you can afford the effort of cleaning after each measurement, storing it in special liquid and recalibrating it with new calibration liquid every time because you want to measure very precisely: you definitely need a calibratable device with a replaceable electrode. I've worn out hundreds of them myself.
  • Kaufen Sie No way a combination device with a redox measuring device if the redox electrode cannot also be calibrated.
  • Be sure to buy enough bags of calibration fluid and storage fluid and don't forget that you always need distilled or deionized water for cleaning.
  • It's best to buy the device in a local aquarium store, where you can also buy the necessary accessories and where there is a specialist who knows how to deal with problems.
