The large LCD color display clearly shows all functions and processes, including the current flow, in detail. The redox values ​​pre-programmed in the display can be adjusted by the user.

We have already had all settings pre-programmed to suit German conditions, including a pre-cleaning of 10 seconds each time the EOS Genesis electrolysis device is switched on.

You can increase the pre-cleaning time to up to 99 seconds for hard water or switch it off. This might be the only thing you could change in the menu settings.

We know the previous models Bionlite Platinion with 5 platinum-coated titanium electrodes and the Bionlite Platinion X-Cell Ultra with 7 electrodes very good, at least since 2009.

Overall, there have been very few cases of defects over the years, which is exceptionally low compared to other water ionizer brands.

The platinum-coated titanium electrodes (plus-minus poles) perform the fundamental role of separating purified water into basic and acidic ionized water. However, there are huge differences in the basicity and quality of the active water of the various water ionizers, which are achieved by the thickness and type (galvanically applied or sprayed) of the platinum-titanium coating and the number of electrodes as a whole.

Each of the 9 electrodes is solidly dip-coated with three electroplated layers of platinum.     Yes, the cycle is great, it should be fine, since you unfortunately don't drink very alkaline water, always drink the strongest level and flow around 1,0 liters of alkaline water (see display) so that you drink approx. pH 10 water. This tastes best and is particularly soft and full of hydrogen gas. The pH value doesn't matter because it's a lightly powdered base either way.
    However, in order to delay the descaling periods for the device, I ask you to do the following:
    Whenever bottles need to be filled, you can press the highest Acidic setting and use the alkaline water from the wastewater hose to fill the bottles.
    By reversing the polarity, i.e. by producing alkaline water from the wastewater hose, through the highest acidic level (Acidic), the device is decalcified and at the same time you get the highest values. Ideal for bottling.
    With EOS devices, the wastewater is always more concentrated than the water that comes out of the top, so you may only use level 3 Acidic to fill bottles via the wastewater hose.
    The next user can then expect stronger values ​​at the upper outlet for alkaline water.

    We have had our EOS Genesis in our house for over 20 months now. I don't want to be without the device anymore and I'm extremely happy with it. Thanks for the great recommendation!
    I have a question about descaling the device:
    I descale about every 10 weeks. With a total consumption of 3700 liters so far, I average a descaling process after approx. 400…450 liters. We usually only tap at pH 8,5, occasionally higher. The drinking water has dH 12,7. The manual recommends descaling every two months. But that doesn't actually depend on the time, but rather on the flow rate.
    How do you assess that? Is the cycle correct, or could I treat myself to a slightly longer period of time given our quantity?

We have had a water filter for years and we have also been aware of the topic of deacidification for about 3 years. We also changed our diet to more vegetables and less bread/lower carbohydrates. We expect that the water ionizer will be able to support our body even better in deacidification.
    After our phone call yesterday we reduced the water pressure to 1,3. The water from level 3 tastes really good to us. Today I noticed at level 4 that it tasted a little “fishy”. I remembered a treatment with active water that we did about a year ago, where we had a small one in the morning. Glasses of alkaline water were drunk for intracellular deacidification. It was also said when the water was “fishy”, “salty”…ect. tastes good, this indicates a certain level of acidification in the organs. Could this be the reason why I have this level 1 taste because I'm just still acidic?
    Of course, nothing has changed for us as a result of this six-month treatment with active water, which was certainly because you can't change anything with such a small glass of active water a day, except that some people make a lot of money by selling this water in bottles can. 🙂

Two installation options: on the tap and firmly on the cold water pipe

With two different installation variants, the AquaVolta® EOS Genesis offers you maximum flexibility during installation. This way you are guaranteed to find the installation solution that is right for you:

1. Simple: The AquaVolta® EOS Genesis installed directly on the tap

The AquaVolta® EOS Genesis can – like all flow-through water ionizers – be installed directly on the tap. A very small and very robust switching valve is included in the scope of delivery. Three adapters for rarer faucet thread sizes are also included.

The supplied external flow rate regulating valve (see picture on the right, white T-connector with knurled screw) is mounted on the water inlet hose during the tap installation for one-time adjustment of the water flow.

2. Comfortable: The AquaVolta® EOS Genesis is firmly attached to the cold water pipe

A much less common option for connecting the ionizer is the permanent water connection (often also called permanent installation).

Connecting the Ø 6,35 mm (1/4”) system

Installing water ionizer on the faucet

A rotary control on a water ionizer is only an advantage in a faucet installation compared to the water ionizers with a solenoid valve and an on-off control (e.g EOS Genesis or EOS Touch), which is connected to an external Flow regulating valve be delivered.

Because of the fine settings of the respective electrolysis stages in the EOS water ionizers. These settings are not necessary because we have already had them adjusted at the factory to best suit our conditions. The strongest basic level is therefore set as strong as possible.

However, the flow setting is important:

As a general rule, I can say that if your water is hard, you can reduce the flow to around 1 liter/minute or even 0,8 liters/minute. If you have softer water, increase the flow accordingly to 1,6 liters/minute. The EOS water ionizers show the water flow actually flowing out of the alkaline water outlet on the display.

It is ideal if you adjust the flow so that on the penultimate level 3 the water is tested with the indicator purple, and level 2, the level before, is still blue. Then you know that the strongest level, the last level could be alkaline towards pH 10,5 to pH 11, more like pH 10,5.

We'll never know for sure. It's not that important, because the water quickly falls from this particularly active state back into a less active state, so it never maintains a stable value.

At pH 10,5 you can expect around -500mV redox potential, depending on the water. And that is more than enough.

If the water is not drunk straight away, the dissolved hydrogen will now be released into the surrounding air. As a general rule, we can say that the hydrogen content decreases by about half every 3 hours. With the hydrogen we also lose the electrical potential, the redox potential, which also drops by half about every three hours. Depending on the water and its mineral content, this can of course vary. But you can also make a general statement that the more calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium there are in the water, the more you get from electrolysis.

However, the lime also becomes a problem over time because it tends to precipitate when the hydrogen leaves the water. It can fail completely, meaning you will then have very soft water and limescale in the container. The stronger you ionize, the more hard the tap water is, the slower the flow, the more these effects occur.

The values ​​may decrease a little over time, after 5 years or more, but normally it is not an issue to use the EOS devices fully functionally for 10 years. We can also completely replace the water cell, i.e. the electrolysis chamber, and thus renew the “motor”.

The only inspection is by you, by testing the pH values ​​every few months with the indicator provided. And maintain the device every 6-12 months with the included descaling pump and citric acid descale.

Otherwise we can inspect the system, but this is more likely to be necessary if a defect should arise.

However, since the flow rate is crucial for achieving a specific pH value, this method is aesthetically pleasing but technically unsatisfactory. In addition, a solenoid valve, which is operated electromechanically, is a wearing part. This technology is therefore usually found in devices that only have a 2-year guarantee. After extensive experience with this type of device, I advise against it.
  • Pressure-resistant devices with a built-in mechanical rotary control of the water flow are preferable. As with standard water fittings, this enables guarantee periods of 5 to 15 years. Pressure fluctuations can be easily compensated for in conjunction with a flow display. This is also a good solution aesthetically and technically and is currently the cutting edge of technology. Some manufacturers also supply a small ball valve that is integrated into the water supply line to the device. This allows the water flow to be regulated even more precisely.

Thanks for the feedback. It's nice that he EOS Genesis arrived the next day.

The leak stopper is installed after the T-piece at the bottom of the cabinet floor, where water would flow. The paint stopper would then become saturated; it has a sponge element at the bottom.

There is a replacement sponge element included in the module in case it accidentally gets wet and the flow is interrupted.

Step-by-step procedure to reset the EOS Touch water ionizer

  1. First turn off the device using the main switch at the bottom of the device and wait 10 seconds.
  2. Now touch and hold the touch display at the bottom right corner with your little finger and switch on the EOS Touch. While you continue to keep your finger touching the bottom corner, turn the device back on using the main switch. It is important that you press and hold as far as you can into the corner, preferably with your little finger. After about 10 seconds you can remove your finger again.
  3. A + symbol should now appear in the top left corner. If that doesn't happen, try steps 1 and 2 again

I would be happy to answer your questions as follows:

  1. The AquaVolta® EOS Touch Can be installed on the tap or permanently with a T-piece. But it's always above the sink. This would be an almost identical device AquaVolta® EOS Genesis, which is a little cheaper because it doesn't have a touch control, which has actually proven to be an advantage for our older customers. See the first video to see how easy it is to use.
    The AquaVolta® EOS Revelation is one of the few water ionizers that can be installed under the sink counter. In the past, under-table ionizers were not highly recommended for various reasons, especially if the tap water was particularly hardy. Thanks to the unique automatic limescale protection of the EOS Revelation (pre- and post-cleaning with rinsing), it is currently one of our most purchased water ionizers with the lowest return rates of under 1%. That's why I have currently reduced it by 2070 euros to 400 euros.
  2. The water filters are changed approximately every 3000 and 6000 liters. If you include the wastewater, then there are 4500 and 9000 liters. As a general rule, with normal use, you could change the first filter once a year, and the second one early after 2 years at the latest.
